For fans of the 1996 film Space Jam, one of the most memorable elements was certainly the Loony Tunes jersey set worn by Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes - aka, the Tune Squad.
In this year's reboot, Space Jam: A New Legacy, director Malcom D. Lee '01 (MFA, Grad Film) and costume designer Melissa Bruning '96 (MFA, Design for Stage and Film) knew that the jerseys were a crucial part to get right. According to Bruning, it took her and her team 14 weeks to develop the new style for both the Tune Squad and the Goon Squad, and that the entire process was a collaborative experience between the filmmakers, Lebron James, and Warner Bros.
