2022 Director's Guild Award Nominees

The 74th Annual Director's Guild Award nominations were announced on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, and we're thrilled to celebrate the Tisch nominees! The Directors Guild of America Awards honors outstanding directorial achievement in feature films, documentary, television and commercials. This year, 8 alumni and faculty are nominated for 8 awards, or worked on nominated projects, across 7 categories.

In addition, we are honored to celebrate Professor Spike Lee '82 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film)/Hon. '98, Artistic Director, Dean's Council, who will receive the Guild’s top honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction. Professor Lee will recieve the award at the ceremony on March 12, 2022. Read more about Professor Lee's award here.
