Editha Mesina
Assistant Arts Professor
Editha Mesina is an Assistant Arts Professor at the Department of Photography and Imaging. She received an MFA from Mason Gross School of Art, Rutgers University and a BA in Studio Art at NYU.
Mesina is a photographer whose work mines the various concerns of portraiture, its private and public spheres, to speak of individual and collective identities. She has exhibited in New York at the Cuchifritos Gallery, Artist Space, Clocktower Gallery, Ceres Gallery, A.I.R. Gallery, the West Kortright Center, East Meredith; Parrish Art Museum, Southampton; Fenimore Art Museum, Cooperstown; and internationally in Pingyao, China and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mesina has lectured on her work and photography at FAMU, Prague, Czech Republic; International Center of Photography, NY. and the Center for Book Arts, N.Y. Her curatorial projects include exhibitions at the DPI Galleries, NYU, N.Y., Galerie AMU, Prague and Photoville, NY. She is an Alex G. Nason New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Photography.
