Joseph Kevin Coles
Department Administrator
An arts administrator, director, and teacher, Joseph Kevin Coles is thrilled to be joining the Department of Photography and Imaging family as Department Administrator.
A director and coach of over thirty theatrical productions across the country, Joe’s feature film directorial debut, NOISE, won Best Feature and Audience Choice Awards at the Golden Gate International Film Festival. He was the Co-Founding Artistic Director of the Brooklyn-based Best Intentions Theater Company, for which he directed and produced over a dozen world premiere productions.
As an educator, Joe has taught and provided artistic administration for many years, including at the acclaimed Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where he served as Administrative Coordinator and Director of Workshop Programs.
A firm believer in arts education, Joe is a proud alumnus of New York University, where he graduated cum laude from The Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama. He trained extensively as both actor and teacher with James Tripp, Angela Vitale, Betsy Parrish, John Gould Rubin, Alice Saltzman, and Ron Burrus. Passionate about aiding young artists in the development of their craft, Joe is excited to return home to NYU as Department Administrator for DPI, and work alongside some of the most talented and wonderful people for the betterment of the next generation of students.
