Adjunct Faculty George Malko

I am a produced film and television writer, as well as a produced playwright, published novelist and journalist, and produced and published Chekhov translator. My screen and television credits include “The Dogs Of War,” “La Luna,” “Out Cold,” and the mini- series “Killer Wave,” as well as TV episodes and uncredited rewrites of produced theatrical feature films. Born in Denmark of Russian parents, I am fluent in Russian, French, and Italian, and have worked as a writer in those and other countries, working in France with CBS News, in Russia as a reporter as well as a screenwriter, and in Italy collaborating with Bernardo Bertolucci on “La Luna,” for which I wrote the novel. A former Guggenheim Fellow in screenwriting, the first ever awarded, I am also the recipient of a grant from the NEA for playwriting, and have been Visiting Professor of Screenwriting at Cuba’s International School of Film & TV. Teaching in the Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing is a pleasure and privilege.
