Suzanne Agins (she/her) is a freelance director. Off Broadway: world premiere of Radiance by Cusi Cram (Labyrinth Theater Company, developed in Rising Phoenix’s Cino Nights series), Jailbait by Deirdre O’Connor (world premiere, Cherry Lane), The Secret Narrative of the Phone Book by Gordon Cox (world premiere, Kraine Theater). Regional: Cape Fear Regional Theatre: Footloose, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Mamma Mia! and Memphis the Musical (4 BroadwayWorld Awards including Best Musical and Best Direction), The Heart of Robin Hood by David Farr (Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival), Pride and Prejudice by Kate Hamill, adapted from Jane Austen (Hangar Theatre), Dreamgirls (CFRT, 7 BroadwayWorld Awards including Best Musical and Best Direction), In the Heights (Hangar Theatre, 5 SALT awards including Best Musical and Best Direction), Lucy and the Conquest by Cusi Cram (world premiere, Williamstown Theater Festival), Noel Coward's Fallen Angels (Dorset Theater Festival), Wing It, a new musical inspired by Aristophanes’ The Birds, by Gordon Cox and Kris Kukul (world premiere, Williamstown). Other projects include Alligator by Hilary Bettis and The Burden of Not Having A Tail by Carrie Barrett (Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference), Murder on the Internet Express (Upstart Creatures), The Club by Amy Fox (Rough Cut production at Ensemble Studio Theatre), Fuente Ovejuna: A Disloyal Adaptation by Cusi Cram, inspired by Lope de Vega's play (Princeton University, developed with Labyrinth Theater Company). Ms. Agins served as Artistic Associate for New Plays at Williamstown Theatre Festival from 2005-2007 and as Artistic Director of the Upstart Creatures from 2016-2022. She holds an MFA in Directing from UC San Diego, is the recipient of a Princess Grace Fellowship, an adjunct faculty member at NYU, and a member of SDC.
