NYU Santa Fe Free Summer 2024 Film Workshop

Empowering Indigenous Voices: An intensive Film Directing Workshop

The free workshop, led by instructors from the Graduate Film program at Tisch in collabortation with Santa Fe Community College, and the Institute of American Indian Arts, is an intensive workshop for Directors-Writers of any and all backgrounds to develop their skills and voices in support of indigenous storytelling. Teachers will be on hand throughout the workshop to provide additional technical instruction in the areas of editing, cinematography and sound, and to lend production support for the exercises and the final project.

You will:

  • Study directing and writing, and shoot and edit directing exercises
  • Direct your own micro short film over the course of one day from a script that you have written, while also working on other student productions in various crew capacities
  • Films will be screened at an event in the fall and reviewed by NYU faculty
