Join us April 7-9 for a series of events, including the screenings of this year’s finalists and awarding this year’s Woman of the Year, Janicza Bravo.
Janicza Bravo is a writer & director based in LA, who trained in theatre at NYU. She's mounted plays in the US and abroad. Her films have screened at AFI, BAM, Carnegie Hall, SXSW, Sundance, & Tribeca. Her short film GREGORY GO BOOM won the Jury Prize for US Fiction at Sundance in 2014. Her feature film LEMON debuted at Sundance and was released by Magnolia Pictures. She directed the pilot for KINDRED, which was picked up by FX. Her feature ZOLA premiered at Sundance and was distributed by A24 & Sony internationally. ZOLA led the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards nominations with 7 nominations, including Best Feature. Variety named Janicza as one of 2020's "10 Directors to Watch".
