José Esteban Muñoz Memorial Lecture delivered by Tavia Nyong’o
“What would I be talking about with José now, if I could?” At this year’s José Muñoz Memorial Lecture, Tavia Nyong’o guided us through the enduring legacy of José Muñoz, thinking through the flesh, the restless circulation of brownness, and how transformation emerges in ways that can’t be counted or contained. A reminder that the sense of brown is never a minor matter, but the opening of another choreography altogether, a capacity to create new forms of collectivity.
