Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums presented a reading of the new musical THE PHOENIX through a special fall edition of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat’s Triple R Program on November 2, 2026.
With a score by Jonathan Larson Grant and Fred Ebb Award winners Cheeyang Ng and Eric Sorrels (both Cycle 28), THE PHOENIX is an over-60 coming of age story. The show follows Ruby Wong as she prepares for the opening ceremonies of the 2028 LA Olympic games with a local senior dance group, and finds that her memories of giving up ballet in China begin to resurface.
