Jonathan Tisch
Jonathan M. Tisch is Co-Chairman of the Board and a member of the Office of the President of Loews Corporation and is also Chairman of its subsidiary, Loews Hotels & Resorts.
During his time as CEO of Loews Hotels, Tisch engineered its expansion and emergence as a leading hotel company by infusing the properties with a widely praised corporate culture that places a high value on partnerships that empower team members, satisfy customers, contribute to communities, and improve the bottom line.
Believing you can do well and do good at the same time, Tisch is a champion of corporate responsibility and active citizenship. He initiated the Loews Hotels Good Neighbor Policy over 25 years ago, the first of its kind in the hospitality industry and the recipient of the U.S. President’s Service Award. He is the naming benefactor of the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service at his alma mater Tufts University, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Tisch is also the former Vice-Chairman of the Welfare to Work Partnership.
Tisch is the author of three bestselling books: The Power of We: Succeeding Through Partnerships; Chocolates on the Pillow Aren’t Enough: Reinventing the Customer Experience; and Citizen You: Doing Your Part to Change the World. He was also the host of the Emmy-nominated and Gracie Award-winning television series, Beyond the Boardroom, where he spoke with some of America’s most preeminent business executives.
Nationally recognized as a leader of the multi-billion dollar travel and tourism industry, Tisch works tirelessly to educate elected officials and the public about the industry’s significant economic, social, and diplomatic contributions. He founded and served as Chairman of the Travel Business Roundtable, and now serves as Chairman Emeritus of its successor organization, the United States Travel Association.
Tisch is also committed to a vibrant tourism industry in New York City, where for nearly six years he served as Chairman of NYC & Company, the city’s official tourism marketing agency and convention and visitors bureau. Concurrent with his national efforts to help stimulate travel and tourism in the aftermath of September 11th, Tisch served as Chairman of New York Rising, which played an instrumental role in reviving tourism and the local economy. In recognition for his leadership and civic involvement, Crain’s New York Business named him one of the first members of their Hall of Fame, recognizing individuals who have transformed the City in both their professional work and in their civic and philanthropic activities. Crain’s has previously named Tisch one of the “Top Ten Most Influential Business Leaders”.
Jon’s passion for the metropolitan area and love of football prompted Tisch to join Jets owner Woody Johnson as co-chairs of the bid committee established to bring Super Bowl XLVIII to the region. Tisch served as co-chair of the historic 2014 NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee.
