Suzan-Lori Parks’ play Topdog/Underdog was named by The New York Times the #1 play written in the twenty-five years since Angels in America (the last line of which is “the great work begins”). Parks, a full-time faculty member of the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic writing, was joined on the list by alumna Annie Baker, whose The Flick was ranked #3. Also in the top ten was DDW alumna Anne Washburn, whose Mr. Burns, a Post Electric Play was ranked #4.

Alumnus Kenneth Lonergan’s This Is Our Youth was also on the list (at #12) along with current full-time faculty and alumnus Kris Diaz, whose The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity nabbed the 25th slot.
