Logline: A mediocre reporter from H.E.R.E - an industrial hellhole of a city constantly bombed from undetermined sources - is offered the retirement of his dreams in a bubblegum themed adult playhouse called A.W.A.Y. But as he unearths the more menacing underbelly of his new home he discovers he may have finally found his big scoop and the reason no one who goes "A.W.A.Y." ever returns.

Bio: An LA native based in Brooklyn, Sean McDonald (He/Him) is a screenwriter, humorist, and story analyst. He’s written coverage for for top festivals, management, and production companies across the country, including the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, Heroes and Villains Entertainment, and Baboon Animation. He currently works as an analyst for Coverfly writing coverage on features, pilots, short films, stage plays, and the stray 800 page manuscript from self-professed geniuses.

His short films “Later Gator” and “The Big Idea” were selections of the 2017 and 2018 Macalester College Student Film Festival, while feature screenplay “Sad Boys Don’t Laugh” placed among the top 6% of submission in both the 2017 Nicholl Fellowship and 2018 Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition. He earned his B.A. from Macalester College in the sub-zero tundras of Minnesota where he and served as Editor-in-Chief of the humor magazine “The Macalester Hegemonocle”, and his MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU, where he was awarded the Dramatic Writing Prize for Outstanding Writing for Animation.
