Josette Roberts

Logline: A young architect is determined to immigrate his father from Honduras into the United States of America by any means neccesary, despite his fathers checkered past.

Bio: Josette (JO-ZET) Roberts is an Afro-Panamanian American screenwriter & director from Prince Georges County, Maryland, a community just outside of Washington DC. Where she was raised by her single mother who first inspired and motivated her to pursue a career in the arts at the tender age of 5 years old. Since then, Josette has gone on to develop an artistic intelligence and confidence of someone twice her age. As of today, Josette has dedicated her life to telling the stories of us all. Stories that tackle the emotional intricacies of Black women and communities of color. Whose richness and nuance are oftentimes disregarded or watered down. She believes that within everyone’s experience therein lies a story to be masterfully told.
