Logline: A year after surviving a suicide attempt, a young gay man impulsively moves to New York to get his job back and to reconnect with his now divided friend group, only to learn that his mental health struggles have made him a liability everywhere he goes.

Bio: Ben Weiss is a writer and New York native, who recently received his MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University, where he studied theatre, sociology, and writing for film and television. His screenplay, Thick Skin, was shortlisted for the Humanitas Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Fellowship. He tends to write about queer friendships/relationships and self-destructive twenty-somethings, all with a tonal blend of comedy and drama. Ben has previously worked at MCC Theater, Intrinsic Value Films, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. He hopes to join a TV writer's room! He can be reached at ben.weiss789@gmail.com.
