Our Black Death
Logline
Our Black Death is a dark comedy about two women who finally get to be together because of the plague. An anachronistic anti-love story set in 1340s England, their everyday reality is disrupted by love spells, murder, jealousy, and a lonely nobleman whose locked himself up in his room.
Bio
Lindsay Carpenter’s plays have been produced and developed at Synchronicity Theatre, The Barrow Group, Women’s Theatre Festival, Fresh Ink Theatre, FAU Theatre Labs, and more. She is a co-founder of Ghost Ship Murder Mysteries (www.ghostshipmurdermysteries.com), which combines interactive theatre with role playing games. She was a staff writer on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s (CBC) web series “Amours d’occasion” (https://ici.tou.tv/amours-d-occasion) which will compete in the 2020 CANNESERIES. Her play “Borders” received the 2015 Kennedy Center ACTF National Undergraduate Playwriting Award. She will workshop her play "Our Black Death" at the Kennedy Center's 2020 MFA Workshop. She received a MUSE residency at Danspace in St. Mark’s Church in 2019 and 2020. She holds a BA in Drama from Tufts University and is a second-year graduate student at NYU Tisch’s Dramatic Writing Program.
