2025 Tony Nominations

The 78th Annual Tony Awards Nominations were announced on Thursday, May 1, 2025, recognizing excellence in live Broadway theatre. The 2024/2025 eligibility season ran from April 29, 2024 through April 27, 2025. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and airing on CBS.

Congratulations to the Tisch alumni and faculty nominated for a 2025 Tony award! This year, 27 alumni and faculty received 38 nominations for their work across 17 projects. 

This year, Tisch alumni made a spectacular showing! Daniel Dae Kim '96 (MFA, Graduate Acting) has made history as the first AAPI nominee in the 'Lead Actor in a Play' category. Four of the five projects nominated in the 'Best Book of a Musical' category were written by Tisch alumni. Maybe Happy Ending by Will Aronson '07 (MFA, Graduate Musical Theater Writing) received 10 total nominations, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Finally, current Collaborative Arts student, Fina Strazza, is nominated for her role in John Proctor is the Villain.
