Courtney Malenius

Courtney Malenius holds a BFA in Cinema Studies (with a double major in Journalism) from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and an MA degree from NYU's Graduate School of Arts and Science in Humanities and Social Thought. Her graduate thesis focused on how text messaging impacts literacy and language development in children. Prior to beginning her role in admissions for the Film and TV department, she worked in NYU's Office of Undergraduate Admissions for nearly 10 years where she began as a student tour guide and was eventually promoted to Associate Director and team leader in charge of undergraduate admissions for the Tisch School of the Arts. Courtney served as the Director of Graduate Admissions for the Parsons School of Design from 2010 - 2018. She is delighted to be back at NYU, her alma mater.

While she was a student at NYU, Courtney also worked as an editorial assistant at US Weekly Magazine and a post-production assistant for Radical Media where she worked on several feature films, including Jay-Z: Fade to Black. Courtney has been an active volunteer with the Tribeca Film Festival since it began in 2002.

A native Chicagoan, Courtney lives in Brooklyn with her dog Chewy. Her hobbies include watching films on the big screen at her local Alamo Drafthouse, exploring NYC beaches, arts & crafts, and collecting Hollywood memorabilia. Her favorite season is awards.
