Matt Cohen

Matt Cohen is the Human Resources Administrator at the Tisch School of the Arts, where he specializes in all areas of faculty affairs. His work includes onboarding new adjunct and full-time faculty, managing payroll inquiries, and supporting visa processes for faculty and visiting scholars.

Matt first joined NYU in 2014 as a student in the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. His academic focus centered on underground horror films and the works of Orson Welles. After graduate school, Matt transitioned into the reality television industry, working as a gaffer and grip on productions for HBO, Lifetime, and other networks.

In 2023, Matt enthusiastically returned to Tisch as an HR Assistant and assumed his current role as HR Administrator in 2024.
