Early in the morning on Sunday, June 12th, a gunman went to the the LGBTQ nightclub, Pulse, in Orlando, Fl and took the lives of 49 individuals and injured 53 more.

These horrific events shook the world, particularly LGBTQ+ communities in the United States as we were are in the middle of celebrating LGBT Pride Month in June. As an NYU community, we will join together at a vigil tomorrow, June 14 at 5pm, to grieve and to offer our thoughts and prayers to the people who have been affected by this tragic loss of life.

NYU Pride at Work invites you to join others across campus in support and solidarity at this event. As always we also look to be a source of community and support for LGBTQA administrators, staff, and faculty and encourage you to reach out to prideatwork@nyu.edu

If anyone needs some to talk to during this time, please reach out to the NYU Counseling Center (P: 212-998-4780) or come by the NYU LGBTQ Student Center (P: 212-998-4424).

The vigil will be held on the Kimmel steps at 5pm on Tuesday, June 14.

If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community and are interested in speaking at the vigil, please contact the lgbtq.student.center@nyu.edu.
