Claudine Yip
My Campus Disaster
Logline: After their college careers and love lives come to a catastrophic halt, sisters Clemen (17) and Gillian (20) get a taste of fiction when they’re (literally) sucked into Clemen’s favourite Chinese drama, My Campus Romance, but soon realize that relationships in the C-drama world are even more complicated than those in real life.
Bio: Claudine Yip is a writer born and raised around Vancouver, Canada—the city that never actually plays itself on screen. She holds a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her work tends to highlight children of Asian immigrants finding love in all its forms, often with a touch of the fantastical, and anything that makes her laugh. Her screenplays have been recognized by ScreenCraft, Vancouver’s Gender and Equity in Media Festival, and the Canadian Short Screenplay Competition. If she’s not busy chuckling to herself at her computer, she’s probably on her favourite social media app Google Maps to plan her next dessert outing.
