"The Enchantment of Modern Life" by Jane Bennett

I don't know that this book will end up making it into my dissertation, but formally, I would love to emulate Bennett's playful yet rigorous approach to analysis. Who says scholarly analysis should be unpleasant to read?

"[Fullness is] plenitude, or liveliness, a sense of having one’s nerves or circulation or concentration powers turned up or recharged – a shot in the arm, a fleeting return to childlike excitement about life.” - Jane Bennett

It brings me back to moments when I have felt seized by a performance or a life moment. These are refreshing to reflect upon when I am utterly lost in my piles of books or hunched over my laptop. Bennett reminds me why I got myself into this mess in the first place.
