Tuesday, Sep 12, 2017

This October, Performance Studies alum Kristen Holfeuer (MA '17) is directing Angela Kemp's "Bear" at the Short Cuts Theatre Festival in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Kristen is a theatre-maker from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She has worked throughout Canada as a director, actor, and producer, often collaborating on new scripts and devised performance. With her colleagues at Kamikaze Archive Theatre she explores working with physical and vocal vocabularies termed 'Glyphs' to create 'Associative Theatre' (theatre wherein a collage of suggestive visual and aural images are interpreted by audience members to create a subjective, linear narrative). To date Kamikaze Archive has created three pieces: 'For The You', 'If Not, Tundra', and 'Red Sonata'.

The Short Cuts Ten Minute Play Festival occurs annually in Saskatoon and showcases world premieres of approximately six ten minute plays performed by an ensemble group of actors. The Short Cuts Festival is produced by Hardly Art Theatre, On The Boards Staging Company, and The Saskatchewan Playwright's Centre.
