B.A. Candidate

Kathie Li

Kathie is a junior majoring in Performance Studies with double minors in Maths and Web Programming and Applications. She is passionate about women’s and girls’ rights, and social justice. Her interdisciplinary interests in arts, cultures, and science give her a unique perspective. Combining diverse approaches and research methods like feminist and queer theory and critical race theory, her major Performance Studies offers her the chance to think critically about the world-making power of performance in performing arts and in the performance of everyday life. At the same time, her interest in maths and computer science helps her to activate the other side of the brain, which she enjoys so much. As someone who loves working in the non-profit field, she was an intern/mentor at She's the First, Read Ahead, Stepping Stones China, etc. She is also the founder & director of Myanmar Girls’ Power, a nonprofit project helping girls in Myanmar to realize their dreams.

Why PS @ NYU?

I love how Performance Studies offer me the freedom and space to combine all my interests together and encourage me to explore more!
