Haowen Wang currently serves as Program Officer, Performing arts, at Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, where he is responsible to lead a roster of MAAF’s longstanding regional performing arts touring grants. Between 2010-2016, Haowen was Program Manager at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and managed a number of grant and professional development programs. During his time at LMCC, Haowen spearheaded two major re-design processes to create LMCC’s flagship regrant programs: Creative Engagement and Creative Learning. Prior to joining LMCC, Haowen was Program Associate at Asian American Arts Alliance, where he piloted a two-year grants and professional development program serving grassroots/traditional cultural groups in Manhattan’s Chinatown.
Haowen previously served as Executive Director of Yangtze Repertory Theatre of America, whose annual, full-length drama productions offer an entry point for contemporary Chinese-speaking playwrights to bring their works to the US. Prior, Haowen was General Manager at Ping Chong & Company. A Taiwan native and New Zealand citizen, Haowen holds M.A. in Performance Studies at NYU and Certificate at Institute of Curatorial Practices in Performance at Wesleyan University (expected 2017).
