Sasha Artuyunova, a 2011 graduate of Tisch Photography & Imaging, recently returned to her native Moscow on assignment for Bloomberg Businessweek.
Her vibrant images accompany a story by Valerie Stivers titled "Moscow's Makeover Swaps Soviet Grit for Urban Sparkle" which analyzes the Russian capital's urban planning decisions and how they are shaping Moscow into a modern "clean, green, and inviting" cosmopolitan center.
Sasha brought her signature style and cultural consciousness to the story, which delivers a change of pace in contemporary American representations of Russia-- a reminder that the country is more than just the political headlines recently saturating the news media.
