Perri Hofmann, a 2014 graduate of Tisch Photography & Imaging, has a photo essay featured in the NY Times Metropolitan section.
"I wanted to capture something fundamental about living in New York and the things we see all the time.”
Entitled "Man Against Nature," the urban landscapes and street captures turn the lens toward a side of New York that is seldom photographed. With the images, Hofmann highlights the tension between the built and natural environments that frequently struggle to coexist in New York City.
The featured image above was also included in Aperture's 2017 Summer Open, curated by For Freedoms, an artist collective which counts several Tisch Photo alums as its principals.
