PS alum Niyoosha Ahmadikhoo
PS alum, Niyoosha Ahmadikhoo, has been appointed as a "Next Generation Fellow" at the Segal Center CUNY based at the Graduate Center.
As a Segal Theatre Fellowship awardee, Niyoosha Ahmadikhoo, MA 2017, is receiving a one-year fellowship sponsored by the Research Foundation CUNY.
Niyoosha will work directly with Frank Hentschker to help Segal Center with programming, publication, curation, control room, and administration.
A Segal Center Next Generation Fellowship by RFCUNY is a paid position for emerging theatre artists and scholars in the early stages of their careers. This fellowship will enable them to gain hands-on experience in everything a public theatre does, from producing festivals to hosting play readings and seminars to supporting publishing projects like books and journals.
As an independent artist/scholar, Niyoosha's current research focuses on the performances of the ongoing Iranian revolution and Afro-Iranian/Black-Iranian performances. A presentation by Niyoosha titled “Assembling a Renaissance: Performances of the Ongoing Iranian Femmrising” will take place at the annual Performance Studies International conference (PSi #29) in London on June 21st, 2024.
