Esther Rosenfield, Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive (MARMIA), Spring 2021, NEH

During my remote internship with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive, I worked primarily on migrating a text-based inventory of one of the organization’s largest sub-collections of tapes (from the Baltimore newsmagazine show Evening Magazine) to their ArchivesSpace instance. I completed this process for about 40 of MARMIA’s more than 300 boxes for this particular program, which amounted to around 800 individual tapes. The transfer process itself involved documenting particular details from the inventory to an Excel spreadsheet which could be ingested by ArchivesSpace. In addition, I provided my internship supervisor, Siobhan Hagan, with new details to include in the tutorial process for future incoming interns, so that they will have an easier time approaching the daunting scope of the material.
