Shahed Dowlatshahi, New York Public Library-Reserve Film and Video Collection, Spring 2017
I did my spring 2017 MIAP internship at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Reserve Film and Video Collection. I worked on the repair and rehabilitation of a rare 16mm print of "Angela Davis: Portrait of A Revolutionary" in preparation for its screening at Anthology Film Archives this summer. I also inventoried, assisted in cataloging, and rehoused film elements and prints for several works newly preserved through the National Film Preservation Foundation. My main project involved research that led me to locate three filmmakers and their original film elements for potential preservation projects in 2018.
