Frannie Trempe, Film Society of Lincoln Center, Spring 2017, HFPA
I spent this semester as an intern at Film Society of Lincoln Center! There, I assessed and inventoried thousands of items ranging from DVD recordings of director Q&As to 35mm clip reels from Film Society galas, assisting Archival Consultant Marie Lascu (MIAP '12) in organizing, processing, and deaccessioning material while preparing this fledgling archive for offsite storage. Before my internship, there was little comprehensive record of Film Society's archival holdings, and during my fourteen weeks Marie and I managed to make significant progress in that realm. Additionally, I was lucky enough to attend tours of the Metropolitan Opera's archive, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and CUNY TV. All told, my time at Film Society of Lincoln Center was eye-opening and truly enjoyable.
