Prof. Kalia Brooks Curated New Exhibit at City Hall

Kalia Brooks, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Photography and Imaging, lead a tour of a new exhibition at NYC City Hall alongside NYC's First Lady Chirlane McCray. 

The exhibition, entitled “City at Work: Portraits in Civic Pride,” launched on Monday, December 5th in the City Hall rotunda and other rooms as part of a joint effort between the mayor’s office and the Cultural Affairs Department.

Created in response to Mayor DeBlasio's promise to diversify the city's art collection, subjects of the exhbition include civil servants, public school kids, and the Bronx Dominican Day Parade.

Kalia Brooks is a New York based independent curator and writer. Brooks is currently a PhD Candidate in Aesthetics and Art Theory with the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts.
