Sara Macel (BFA, 2003) delved into a forgotten family heirloom-- a suitcase of photos taken by her grandmother Carolyn in the 1940's-- to create her latest body of work, What Did The Deep Sea Say. Macel intersperses her own images with those taken decades ago to blur fact, fiction, and intergenerational memory.
Sara's work was recently featured in the National Geographic Travel Section, including an article and interview by Abby Sewell.
