Department of Photography and Imaging alum Sam Contis (BFA '04) has been named one of two recipients of the Nancy Graves Foundation Grant for Visual Artists. The award is an unrestricted $5,000 prize given directly to artists "to experiment in a different medium or technique than they are most recognized for."
Sam is based in Oakland, CA and currently has a solo show in New York at Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery through Jun 18, 2017.
