DPI Alum Paul Mpagi Sepuya (BFA '03) is a studio artist whose work includes photographs, books and installations focusing on portrature, the visual culture of the homoerotic and the studio environment. In his current exhibition Deana Lawson, Judy Linn3, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, at Sikkema Jenkins, Sepuya extends the frame of his work to include installations of overlaid photographs.

The combination of artist's works in this exhibition presents the capacity of photography to encompass many domains. Sepuya envisions his work to "contain within it the instances of what preceded it" allowing him to "bring together and embrace the contradictions that photographic production generates."
