For Freedoms––the country's first ever artist-run super PAC, co-founded by Eric Gottesman and DPI alum Hank Willis Thomas (BFA '98)––has launched a campaign to commission political billboards in every state this fall. From The New York Times article:

"A central aspect of the effort, called the 50 State Initiative, will be a fund-raising campaign to put up billboards across the country starting in September. Fifty-two Kickstarter campaigns will seek to raise $3,000 per state plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Dozens of artists, including Tania Bruguera, Trevor Paglen and Carrie Mae Weems, will contribute billboards."
