Drift Multiply

Tristan Perich's Drift Multiply for 50 violins and 50 speakers with a new dance by Lucinda childs for 60 dancers was performed in Rotterdam last month. For this first project BIG IDEA invited Lucinda Childs to create a new choreography together with 60 young dancers from Codarts Rotterdam, using Drift Multiply, an ambitious composition for 50 violinists and 50-channel 1-bit electronics by Tristan Perich. The piece will be performed live by 50 violinists from Codarts, the DoelenEnsemble Young, and The Royal Conservatory of The Hague. The ensemble will be trained and led the prominent American percussionist and conductor Doug Perkins.
