NYU alum Laura Moss’ "Fry Day", a coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of Ted Bundy's execution in 1989, won the City of Melbourne Grand Prix for Best Short Film, making it eligible for the 90th Academy Awards.

The Melbourne jury raved over Moss's work, calling it the "complete package" and "a taught, engrossing film"-  Alicia Brescianini, Judith Lucy, and Michael McMahon.

"Fry Day" thus far has been awarded The Student Visionary Award at Tribecca Film Festival, The Best Live Action Award for Short Films at the Lower East Side Film Festival, and Best Director at the Victoria TX Indie Fest.

The film will have it's Los Angeles premiere at HollyShorts Film Festival "So Long, Farewell" shorts block this Sat - Aug. 19th, 5:00 PM.

Congratulations to Laura and her team!
