In my internship I was tasked with making the George and Helen Smith films held in the archive accessible. At the beginning of my internship this was thought to be limited to gaining intellectual control over the collection. However, by the end I had created extensive spreadsheets describing the contents of the collection, the condition of each item, had recored each reel, noted any written metadata, had updated the finding aid, published the finding aid, had made digital copies of productions that were not accessible on DVD, had digitized the dvd access copies, had created compressed copies of these digital master files, and had made these compressed files accessible though the university library website.
