Devin Shacket

Devin Shacket is a casting director, on camera audition coach and teacher, and actress. As a casting professional, her most notable casting credits include all 13 episodes of House of Cards: Season II, alongside Emmy Award-winning casting director, Julie Schubert. Devin has held positions at Lynn Kressel Casting, Bowling/Miscia Casting, and Twinkie Byrd Casting. She has worked in different capacities with casting directors Rori Bergman, Meredith Tucker, Kate Lumpkin, and Bess Fifer. She served as casting director for the award winning indie film Good Funk, and currently serves as the New York casting director for San Francisco Playhouse. Devin is on faculty at Audition Arts, where she teaches on-camera audition technique to actors of all skill levels. She also teaches at her own private studio in NYC. She has been a guest lecturer at NYU Tisch Stonestreet Studios, SF State, SOCAPA, and several private studios in NYC. Students and private coaching clients have appeared on Bull, Quantico, Escape at Dannemora, Iron Fist, Jack Ryan, Tyrant, and Switched at Birth. Clients have also appeared in independent feature films and on regional theatre stages.

Devin holds an M.A. in Dramatic Literature from San Francisco State University, and a B.A. in Journalism and Dramatic Literature from NYU. She attended the competitive BADA Midsummer in Oxford program, and she completed the prestigious two-year Meisner training with Terry Knickerbocker in NYC. She has had the great privilege of studying acting with many of the best teachers in the world, including Larry Moss, Jim Calder, Chris Bayes, Philippe Gaulier, Janet Zarish, Patsy Rodenberg, Fay Simpson, Bob Krakower, Aitor Basauri, Tessa Lang, and Olympia Dukakis. Recently, Devin served as Olympia Dukakis' Teaching Assistant in an advanced acting class at NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway. Passionate about actor training, in 2016, Devin founded The New York Drama Center; a center for professional actor training, dedicated to provide professional and semi-professional actors access to master acting teachers. She currently serves at Artistic Director.
