Alexis began her career in production working on studio films including Mississippi Burning, The Bonfire of the Vanities, A League of Their Own, and Striptease.  Having worked with many of the industry’s most accomplished directors including Alan Parker, Adrian Lyne, Nora Ephron, and Penny Marshall, Alexis founded her own production company—Elixir Films—before teaming up with director and former NYU adjunct professor, Gary Winick, to create the cutting-edge digital studio InDigEnt.

With financing from IFC, InDigEnt produced ten low budget features, including Personal Velocity, Pieces of April, and Tadpole, all Sundance favorites.

Other notable InDigEnt films included Ethan Hawke’s directorial debut, Chelsea Walls, which premiered in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and Rick Linklater’s Tape. Rebecca Miller’s Personal Velocity went on to win the John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award.

Through Elixir, Long Way Round was brought to the screen. The first in the motorbike doc series starring Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman, Long Way Round aired on SKY in the UK and BRAVO in the US.

Alexis then produced Ethan Hawke’s The Hottest State, which premiered to critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival.

Throughout her career, Alexis has advocated for women and entrepreneurialism in the film industry. As such, she has served as President of Production for film and television finance/production start-up Locomotive, building a broad slate of projects and producing features, Maggie’s Plan and Look Away.

Having been a client and utilized Entertainment Partners’ filmmaker services for NYS Tax Incentive administration and lending, Alexis was invited to consult with the industry’s largest payroll and production software company and head up sales from NY. While VP of Business Development and Industry Relations, Alexis engaged prolific independents in state of the art production and accounting software, tax incentive updates and lending opportunities. During COVID, Alexis produced and moderated over a dozen informative and relevant webinars to build a forum for the industry while on pause due to the pandemic.

Variety named her one of Ten Producers to Watch at the Cannes Film Festival.

Alexis has attended film festivals around the world, served on juries from the early days of Tribeca Film Festival, Newport Film Festival, and Hamptons International Film Festival.
