Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Photography & Imaging
721 Broadway, 8th Floor, Room 803, New York, NY 10003
Ming Shiu, former student of Professor Snow Yunxue Fu, will return to the Photography & Imaging Department to give a lecture to the Multimedia: Intro to Post-Photographic Imaging class.
At the center of her practice is Pothosophy, an original philosophical framework that understands generative desire not as evidence of lack, but as a force through which relation and form become possible. Drawing from East Asian material and philosophical histories, Kai works with inherited objects, historical motifs, computational imagery, and her signature spectrum of crimson, asking what happens when inherited forms are allowed to move, mutate, and enter new systems of meaning.
Open to Photography & Imaging and Emerging Media students only.
RSVP not required.
