In the IMA course Open Call taught by Blair Simmons, students co-design a theme and a title for an exhibition that they then make new work for.
The show begins with a simple question: what does it mean to live together today? Conceived as a collective construction, each work contributes a fragment shaped by personal encounters with the present. Rather than forming a unified narrative, these fragments coexist, overlap, and at times contradict one another. Through their accumulation, the space becomes a dynamic site where individual perspectives and collective experience remain in ongoing dialogue.
The exhibit is open until April 23rd at THE BLANC: 15 E 40th St STE 200, New York, NY 10016. The gallery is open Wed–Sat, 11 AM–5 PM
