Rono Bijoy Pal '23 (BFA, Film and Television) has won the Best Student Screenplay Grand Prize at this year's Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) Screenplay Competition for his script Under the Black Hills. Rono began writing his script while he was a UGFTV student.
Rono will serve as a panelist at the 2026 ScriptBiz Workshop, where his screenplay will be a central focus of the program, plus he will receive an official award at RIIFF's Opening Night Celebration on the stage of the 3,100-seat Providence Performing Arts Center.
