Facilities

The department facilities include three digital imaging Mac labs, equipped with the latest Adobe software, Epson 17" archival inkjet printers, and a variety of Epson and Hasselblad, Imacon, and Epson scanners, and two large traditional Black and White Darkrooms. We also have a 19th century techniques darkroom, two photography studios, and a print finishing area that includes equipment for drying, mounting, and matting photographs.

 We conduct information sessions during two Tisch Open Houses for freshmen applicants and their parents in September and October. 

 

How much does the artistic portfolio REALLY count in the application process?

Admission is a holistic process. Academic achievement and creative potential are equally important. Students must meet both the general University admissions criteria, as well as our Department’s requirements, and be competitive both academically and artistically.
