ITP Alum Carlos J. Gómez de Llarena Figueredo's new work, Rectangular Binary Loop (2023), is on display at Sotheby’s New York galleries as part of the employee art show from July 21-26. All artworks are being offered for sale online and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to ARTNOIR, a NYC based charity that provides micro-grants to emerging artists. Rectangular Binary Loop is an abstract animation where the 2D frame of the canvas recedes and disappears into the horizon in a one-minute loop. It takes inspiration from Malevich’s black square series, turning these geometrical compositions into a meditative contemplation of time.
