Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality are buzzwords you hear all the time. But what are they and how are they different? Perhaps, you have studied them in classes or even created cool projects of your own. You may ask: how are companies really using these technologies today? 

Leigh Christie and Julie Huynh of Isobar will showcase products in hospitality, curated art and assistive technology, introducing you to their processes from the idea conception through product realization.

Leigh Christie Bio: Leigh Christie manifests otherworldly inventions, products and artworks. He has a masters from MIT Media Lab's ACT program (Art, Culture and Technology) and an undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. Leigh has helped build Western Canada's first solar powered vehicle at UBC and designed battery packs and EV components for several automotive startup companies, but he is perhaps best known for co-creating the Mondo Spider, a pure-electric 1,500 lb walking vehicle, and as co-founder of the eatART Laboratory in Vancouver, BC, and founder of MistyWest Energy and Transport. He currently works with Isobar, a global digital agency.

Julie Huynh Bio: Julie Huynh is a dedicated Unity Developer at Isobar. She specializes in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality applications. Beginning her studies in Fine Arts and English Literature at the University of California, Santa Barbara, she started her search for the best tools to realize her innovative concepts. Following that pursuit brought her to NYC where she continued her studies in design and technology at Parsons. While at Parsons Julie entered the worlds of developers, creative technologists and the independent gaming industry. After receiving her MFA, she continued to teach at Parsons and develop independent games.  

Now at Isobar she hones her talents by focusing on photorealistic virtual reality and continues to create other disseminations, from room-scale VR content to 360-degree video. She is also an integral part of exploring applications of different realities for client projects, and Nowlab initiatives. She consistently continues to create, prototype and deploy work to push the bounds of virtual experiences.
