Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum Tyrone L. Robinson presented two new Children's Theatre works, Strong Inside at Nashville Children's Theatre in September 2023, and Catching The Moon: The Story of a Young Girl's Baseball Dream at Children's Theatre of Charlotte in March 2024.
Strong Inside, adapted from the NY Times best-selling YA novel by Andrew Maraniss, was commissioned by Nashville Children’s Theatre. The commission and production were funded by generous support from Vanderbilt University Athletics. The play was honored at the Nashville Theatre Awards for Outstanding New Play. Catching The Moon: The Story of a Young Girl's Baseball Dream, comissioned by Children's Theatre of Charlotte, features music and lyrics by Robinson, and book and lyrics by fellow Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum Nichole Jackson (also Cycle 20). Adapted from the Book by Crystal Hubbard, Catching The Moon plays through March 24th. Click Here for more information.
