When the tide of gentrification reaches her Harlem single room occupancy building, a former Bond Girl documents her mission to save the neighborhood and her home.

Third year dual degree student Artemis Shaw's documentary, "Single Room Occupancy," that explores gentrifaction in Harlem, will have a weeklong screening at Village East Cinema from October 13-19, opening for "Thy Father's Chair".

Artemis and her co-director, Alexander Lewis, worked on the film for a number of years after Alex met Max Vesterhalt, Bond girl and christian missionary, in Harlem in 2012. Since then, Artemis and Alex got to know her and her neighbors in her single room occupancy building on W. 130th street.

The doc was an Official Selection at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2016, and the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival of 2017.
