Alumnus Martin Scorsese has been chosen to recieve the Praemium Imperiale International Arts Award by the Japan Arts Association. The pretigious award will be given to Scorsese at a ceremony in Toyko on October 18.
“The Praemium Imperiale honors the greatest artists of our time. Their glorious creations remind us that art is a universal language, bridging geographic boundaries and enhancing all our lives," said Japan Art Association chairman Hisashi Hieda.
